Coderium Developer is your on-device coding copilot! Installing Coderium Developer is a two step process:

  1. Installing Coderium inference engine - Coderium Inference-at-Source engine is the backing highly optimized platform that run exclusively on your device and derives inferences from locally installed LLMs and by default Coderium uses Llama 3.1 model. This engine is the backing platform which is used by Coderium Developer VS Code extension. Once you have installed Coderium, the VS Code extension needs to be installed.
  2. Installing VS Code extension - The Coderium Developer VS Code extension is the means by which Coderium Developer's copilot capabilities are accessible. This VS Code extension uses Coderium inference engine's interfaces to unlock the copilot's functionalities.

Step 1 - Installing Coderium Platform

  1. Create an account with Coderium.
  2. From the Coderium installation page download the desired flavor of Coderium installer. (See above)
  3. Once download finishes, navigate to the directory where you downloaded the Coderium Installer.
  4. Double-click the Coderium Installer
  5. Accept the terms of conditions and sign in with your Coderium account credentials
  6. Click 'Next' and the installer will start configuring Coderium.
  7. Once Coderium is installed click on Finish.
  8. Move the Coderium Platform to your Apps folder.
  9. Congratulations! Coderium Platform is now installed on your Mac.

Step 2 - Installing the VS Code Extension

  1. Open VS Code IDE.
  2. Navigate to the extensions icon on the right panel.
  3. Search for Coderium Developer extension.
  4. Hit the 'Install' button.
  5. You will see the Coderium Developer icon on the right panel, go to the extension.
  6. You will be asked to sign in with your Coderium credentials, please do so.
  7. Congratulations! Coderium Developer extension is installed on your VS Code IDE and is ready to use.
